About The Artist

I’m an American-Israeli artist and designer. I live and work in Chevy Chase, Maryland. I’ve been painting and cutting paper for more than twenty years. I’ve also studied law, worked in the news media, and dallied a bit in academia — but my heart has always belonged to art.

I specialize in creating works of hand-cut and laser-cut fine art and ketubahs, while maintaining an independent studio practice.

In my work, I’m particularly drawn to abstractions, and find particular appeal in the universal beauty of geometric and organic shapes. Pattern and repetition lend visual and conceptual interest; color may offer emotional depth. For the past few years, I’ve been making a study of elemental shapes and geometries, while experimenting with detailed cutting and layering techniques, balancing intricacy and structure. I admit to failing as much as I succeed, but the successes are sweet: Moments of beauty, even wisdom; the joy of engaging my mind, and doing what I love.

Born and raised in the United States, I moved to Israel in 1999, where I remained until the summer of 2016, when I moved back -- again -- to the United States. When I’m not in the studio, I’m busy raising my three wonderful American-Israeli children, my dog, Chewy, and cat Pablo.
