Upon the Altar · 24x30"
When one pillar of our practice disappears, we convert our intentions into new forms. So it was that the destruction of the Second Temple, the Rabbis metaphorically transposed the sacrificial altar into another sacred key: the home. Even as our Temples recede, we strengthen our practices at home, at our tables, and allow the power of ritual to elevate the most mundane to holiness.
